“That One Is Cacus”, LAZYBONES FLAME KIDS’s latest video has just been released on Antigony’s You Tube Channel. It’s the new single taken from “Beyond”, released in April 2019 on ANTIGONY RECORDS.
This is what the band had to say: “‘That One is Cacus’ is inspired by an extract of the XXV Canto dell’Inferno of the Divine Comedy. The mythological monster Cacus, described by Dante as a centaur covered in snakes with a dragon astride his back, dominating him, pursues the damned Florentine protagonists of the song, in order to punish them for their irreverence in the sight of God.
In the delicate task of giving shape to Dante’s words, it was decided that a lyric-video would be created to accompany the audience both musically and visually. The lyrics are written using Bodoni-style typefaces, the same style used for printing one of the most valuable editions of the Divine Comedy by the namesake typographer Giambattista Bodoni (1795). The story is animated and transported from the printed paper of a book to the circles of Dante’s Hell; from the minimalism of the kinetic typography to the animation of vintage engravings; an excursus of unexpected settings, just like presenting a post-rock song, with verses and refrains, in a lyric-video”.
“Beyond”, the latest album of Italian Post-Rock act LAZYBONES FLAME KIDS is a mix between the classic emotional side of post-rock and atmospheric arpeggios. The most part of the album is instrumental, with intervals narrated, shouted and whispered.
