Phenomenal Box Office tandem Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla or fondly called by their fans as KathNiel, renewed their individual three-year contracts with ABS-CBN on January 15.
“Very happy and very thankful that ABS-CBN still trusts us the same way we trust them. We’re very happy, blessed, and excited for the things in store for us,” shares Padilla.
Bernardo began acting in 2003 who became kown for her role as Mara in the TV series Mara Clara. She is the first Filipina who breached the 800-million mark for two movies– The Hows of Us (2018) and Hello, Love, Goodbye (2019).
Padilla also known as the King of Hearts began in 2010. He earned numerous awards in television, film, and in the field of music, including FAMAS Award for Best Actor, PMPC Star Award for Movie Actor of the Year, Luna Awards for Best Actor, GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards for Box Office King, and the Awit Awards.
After a year of working in their respective solo projects, this 2020, the box-office pair is back to doing teleserye, movie, and more.
Top of the line project is the KathNiel teleserye is Tanging Mahal. Dreamscape is still finalizing the concept of the show.
“Actually, hindi pa namin alam kung ‘yun ang final title kasi ‘yun ang na-play ‘di ba? Pero pinafinalize pa lahat,” Kathryn stresses.
“Siguro it’s gonna be something fresh, kasi medyo matagal rin kami hindi nakapag-trabaho and ngayon, may-trabaho ulit kami siyempre iniintay rin namin ‘to mangyari.
“And we’re sure na ang fans, very excited rin na makita kami magkasama, at personally, excited rin kami magtrabho-ulit,” adds Daniel.
Apart from the project they are working together, they also have their respective solo projects.
Daniel shared his excitement about his movie Whether the Weather is Fine with ABS-CBN executive and veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio.
“Excited ako dito para sa movie niya. Ibang team. Dumalaw ako sa set niya, and alam mo ‘yun hindi siya yung the usual na usually pag sa Star Cinema kilala mo lahat, Ito as in younger ‘yung sa story and sa set nila sobrang ganda, so kailangan nila abangan,” Kathryn shared her support.
Meanwhile, Kathryn is overjoyed and expressed her gratitude for the support she’s getting from her YouTube channel, Everyday Kath, which earned almost a million subscribers in just two weeks when it released its first episode.
KathNiel will have a reunion film in the offing.
