While watching animes in Tagalog dub is much helpful at times, many fans wondered why GMA does not air it in the English version.
As explained by GMA Network, it turns out that the decision to air animes in Tagalog or English is not their responsibility.
The Japanese license owners of the anime programs is the one that chooses the language for the anime dubbing.
The reason Japanese companies insist on this is for them to be assured of the protection of their worldwide intellectual property rights from infringement.
With the Tagalog dub, GMA Network will be able to attract more kids, especially those not familiar with the English language. Research also shows that for every one person who wants it in English, there are 8 anime fans who want it in Tagalog.
