Singer 2020 is a Chinese singing reality show and is open to all well-known professional singers in the music industry worldwide.
It is also known as I Am a Singer. When this coming season is about to open, there were names who were fielded in to be the country’s representative.
The long wait was over, the Philippines has named its contender–The Voice Kids Season 1 Semi-Finalist, Darren Espanto.
Back in 2019, KZ Tandingan, Philippine X-Factor champion made waves when she joined the competition in its seventh edition of the said show.
KZ’s journey in the show was remarkable, she topped in one of the weeks when she sung Rolling in the Deep and gave her own rendition. She trended worldwide when the famous international singer Jessie J turned out to be KZ’s ultimate Idol.
Despite KZ’s powerful performance, it was still not enough to advance her to the finals.
It was Espanto’s social media post that created abuzz when a logo of Singer 2020 with the male singer with a caption: Dare to Sing. #Singer2020.
His friends congratulated him, like Robi Domingo: “ Proud of you” with a thumbs up signs and from Morissette: “Ayun naman pala” with a smiling emoticon.
