Kapuso actress Carla Abellana openly shared about her struggles with her current health condition and sudden weight gain on Instagram last December 31.
She described 2019 as the year that broke her both physically and emotionally but she was grateful that she survived it.
“Goodbye to a year that broke me psychologically, emotionally and physically. To say that it was tough is an understatement. I fought so many quiet battles. And yet here I am, with God’s grace, still standing and choosing to remain grateful and faithful. Here’s to hoping and praying for a stronger and better year ahead💛” Carla wrote.

The actress then admitted the truth about her health condition and sudden weight gain which concerned most of her fans.
She revealed that she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism which caused her to gain weight.
Hypothyroidism is described as “a common condition characterized by too little thyroid hormone” by endocrineweb.com.
It added,” If you have hypothyroidism as an adult, you may experience sensitivity to cold, little appetite, and overall sluggishness. Hypothyroidism often goes unnoticed, sometimes for years, before being diagnosed.”
Aside from this she also suffered from asthma, liver damage, and tachycardia or rapid heart rate “a condition that makes your heart beat more than 100 times per minute” as described by webmd.com.
But Carla shared that she is now getting better.
She added, “Have you seen my latest Vlog already? Nakita niyo na ba kung paano ako lumobo ng husto sa Osaka dahil sa mga sakit ko? Thank goodness I’m getting better now.”
