After earning raves in international film festivals in the US, Europe and Asia, local audiences will finally see Watch List, a moving story of a mother who is determined to protect her children at all costs, on February 19 in cinemas nationwide.
Alessandra de Rossi, the star of the box-office hit film Kita Kita, leads the cast of Watch List, directed by Indian-American filmmaker Ben Rekhi, whose previous works include collaborations with George Clooney and the Coen Brothers.
In Watch List, Alessandra plays the role of Maria, a woman whose husband is killed under mysterious circumstances. To protect her family from the people who are responsible for her husband’s death, she joins a vigilante group — a decision that puts Maria and her three children in greater danger.
Alessandra was drawn to the project because it is inspired by true events. “Gusto ko kasi totoo. Bilib ako sa character ni Maria,” she says of her film alter ego. “Ang hirap kasi tanggapin (ang isang role) kapag hindi totoo.”
Aside from the numerous dramatic highlights, Alessandra rides a motorcycle and wields a gun in certain scenes. All of which will definitely grip viewers and put them at the edge of their seats.
Joining Alessandra in the cast are a talented ensemble composed of Art Acuña, Jake Macapagal, Lou Veloso, Micko Laurente, Timothy Mabalot, Jess Mendoza and Angeli Bayani.
Watch List is released by Reality Entertainment.
