In an interview with Rider PH Studios, 30-year-old Kapamilya singer Angeline Quinto revealed that she previously received an offer from another network, but she chose to stay with ABS-CBN.
“Hindi matatawaran ng presyo ‘yung utang na loob ko sa ABS.”
The interviewer explained that when other celebrities were asked if they could transfer to another network they would, but Angeline emphasized, “Actually, naisip rin namin ‘yon, kung san may trabaho dun tayo. Pero ‘yung wala ka naman masasagasaan, ‘yung wala naman masasabi sa ‘yo ‘yung tao na wala naman utang na loob ‘to, di ba? Pwede ka naman gumawa ng paraan na magkakaroon ka pa rin ng trabaho, ‘yung maayos.”
With the current state of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal, Angeline still chose not to transfer to other networks and instead became interested in approaching producers to help them come up with shows.
Angeline stated, “Kung sakaling mangyari ‘yon, lahat ng kinatatakot ng ABS, siguro mag-trabaho na lang ako hindi sa TV. Siguro mas marami tayong lapitan na ibang producers na pwede mag-produce ng shows. Hindi ko talaga kasi kaya na, ayoko naman mag-trabaho sa ibang network na iiwanan ko kung sino tumulong sakin magkaroon ng mabuting trabaho.”
Meanwhile, Angeline panicked when her teleprompter broke while performing on the ASAP stage.
“Kasama naming si Ms. Lani, si kuya Richard, marami po kami ‘non. Tapos, habang kumakanta kami, biglang nagulat kami ‘yung prompter ‘yung pinakamalaki sa taas namatay. Bigla nagkatinginan kaming lahat, kasi hindi naming kabisado ‘yung ibang lyrics, dun kami nataranta.”
Good thing that ASAP’s staff was ready for the sudden technical error and they were able to provide a hard copy of the lyrics which they placed on the floor for them to see. The only problem was Angeline has poor eyesight and was unable to read the lyrics despite the efforts of the staff.
She continues: “’Yung ibang staff po ng ASAP, ‘yung mga lyrics sheets po inabot na nila agad. Nilagay sa lapag, eh ang problema malabo mata ko, di ko makita, bumase na lang ako sa kanila. After ng ilang segundo naman po, bumalik agad, akala nila nag-brownout. Nakakatawa lang, kasi sabi namin, first time kasi nangyari sa’min ‘yon.”
