- He was last seen in the epic series Sahaya
- His hit and run incident last year generated bad publicity for him
Months after he starred in the hit epic series Sahaya, Starstruck Season 6 Ultimate Male Survivor Migo Adecer is now up for another project with GMA Network.
He is now seen in the Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday remake which premiered in the Kapuso primetime block last January 27.
Migo plays Cocoy, a charming boy who crosses paths with Ginalyn (Barbie Forteza) and Caitlyn (Kate Valdez) who are dragged into a family feud by their mothers, who are sworn enemies.
In a press conference for Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday, Migo was asked if any girls ever fought over him in real life and how did he feel about it.

The Kapuso star then replied, “Honestly, kahit sobrang guwapo ng isang guy, hindi siya dapat pinag-aawayan.
“Just get another guy or just play with him. Paglaruan nyo lang siya, then look for a better guy.”
It seems that Migo is probably luckier than his co-stars in Sahaya, Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali, since he got a new show quickly after the show ended.
Migo said, “I guess I’m just lucky and I’m very thankful to GMA for their trust in me. That’s why I’m really doing my best para mas pagbutihin nang husto ang trabaho ko.”
Migo is also glad for his fellow Starstruck alum Klea Pineda who hs the hit afternoon drama, “Magkaagaw”.
“I’m happy for her. Ever since, we said naman na hindi kami nagmamadali. You have to gain muna a lot of experience before they would give you bigger and more challenging assignments,” he shared.
2019 was seen as a challenging year for him. He was arrested for hit-and-run and injuring two MMDA employees. The incident has given the male actor some complications in his career projects. Migo faced Simple Disobedience to an Agent of a Person in Authority charges and was detained before posting bail of PHP 3000. This became possible after the MMDA employees forgave the 19-year-old actor.
The Kapuso star said that he acknowledged this bad experience was an opportunity to grow as a professional actor.
“Yes, it was bad, but I guess it’s an experience that I have to go through kasi I learned a lot from it. Grabe ‘yung journey ko to maturity and adulthood, but it prepared me for a lot of things. When you did something bad, pinapalo ka, di ba? So napalo ako. From there, you have two choices. Either you do it again or you learn from it. And I chose to learn from it. Nalagay ko sa ayos ang work ethic ko, naging more professional ako and I really took my job more seriously.”
He was also thankful to his mother network for not leaving him behind despite the incident which gave him a bad image.
“Yes, and I’m just thankful that kahit nangyari ‘yun, hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA, they gave me ‘Sahaya’, which really did well, and I even got to do my very first movie, ‘Black Lipstick’. So the year started bad but naging maganda naman ang ending. And now, 2020 is starting right for me with ‘Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday’ and also, ‘All Out Sundays’ where I get to sing and dance naman, so sana, magtuluy-tuloy lang.”
Talking about his love life, Migo assured that he won’t be linked to his co-actors as he disclosed his relationship with his non-showbiz girlfriend. “Her name is Katrina Mercado and one year na rin kami. We just celebrated our first anniversary. Mas okay na ‘yung hindi taga-showbiz ang karelasyon mo. Mas tahimik,” Migo revealed.
