A new year means new television shows to look forward to.
GMA Network recently unveiled its all-new line-up for 2020, including teleseryes starring the biggest names in the industry.
At least 20 Kapuso shows are lined up for release this year.
Here’s a rundown of GMA Network releases to look forward to in the coming months:
Descendants of the Sun (Pinoy Adaptation) – Originally played by Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado will give life to Yoo Si-jin (Captain Lucas) and Doctor Kang Mo-yeon with supporting cast members Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Rocco Nacino. Descendants of the Sun first aired in the Philippines back in 2016 and it became a big hit.
Love Of My Life – Rhian Ramos and Carla Abellana are set to return with this family-drama series. Tom Rodriguez, Mikael Daez, and Coney Reyes will join them in the teleserye.
Anak Ni Waray vs Anak Ni Biday – This is a remake of the 1984 film of the same title. Barbie Forteza and Kate Valdez will play the roles of two women brought together by fate. But little do they know that their moms Snooky Serna (Amy) and Dina Bonnevie (Sussie) are mortal enemies. Completing the cast are Jay Manalo, Teresa Loyzaga, Celia Rodriguez, Migo Adecer, and Faith Da Silva.
First Yaya – Marian Rivera is making her comeback after three years. The Kapuso actress will be working with Gabby Concepcion for the first time. Gabby will play the role of a big-time politician and Marian will be his children’s nanny in this series.
Legal Wives – This upcoming teleserye is topbilled by Dennis Trillo.
Babawiin Ang Lahat – This drama series will unite Glaiza de Castro, Mike Tan, Valerie Concepcion, Ricky Davao, Tina Paner, and Boy 2 Quizon.
Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit – This TV remake of the 1989 movie of the same name will feature Kyline Alcantara as Maggie, a rebellious rich kid. The role was originally played by Nora Aunor, who will now play as Maggie’s grandmother in the series. Mylene Dizon, Isabel Rivas, Gabby Eigenmann, Zoren Legaspi, Ina Feleo, and Yasser Marta are also part of the cast.
Seed Of Love – This teleserye features Pauline Mendoza as a lead star. Carmina Villaroel, John Estrada, Liezl Lopez, Kristoffer Martin, David Licauco, and Dave Bornea will join her in the series.
Sanggang Dikit – Real-life couple Derek Ramsay and Andrea Torres return to the small screen. We will be seeing them again in this teleserye after The Better Woman drama series.
Agimat Ng Agila – Senator Bong Revilla is making a TV comeback. He stars as a forest ranger on this new show.
