- Vic Sotto clarified that he is not concerned about the ranking of his film Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity in the MMFF 2019
- The comedy-action film is currently in the fourth spot among the eight official entries
- Vice Ganda’s The Mall, The Merrier is leading in the MMFF 2019
Eat Bulaga! host Vic Sotto said that he is not concerned whether or not his film Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity would be a top grosser at the Metro Manila Film Festival. The actor said he only hopes to get a good result of making viewers happy.
In a press conference recently held for the film, Vic shared, “Kahit third lang, okay lang basta maganda ang resulta.
Vic also said that joining the annual film festival has been a “tradition” for him.
Kamukha ngayon, naiibang action-comedy-thriller ang offer namin in Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity.
Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity which also stars Maine Mendoza, currently holds the fourth spot among the MMFF 2019 entries at the box office while Vice Ganda’s The Mall, The Merrier is taking the lead.
Last year, Vice and Vic’s respective MMFF film entries were also placed in a heated competition. The comedy film Fantastica earned the highest rank while Jack Em Popoy came in the second. But Vic clarified that his films’ ranking is presently not a concern for him.
He worked with Coco Martin last year in Jack Em Popoy. Many are now asking if he could possibly join forces with Vice on a movie.
“I’d like to believe na friends ko lahat kasi wala naman talaga akong kaaway. Open ako to work Vice or anyone, kaya lang hindi lang naman sa amin nakasalalay yan. May other factors involved. We come from competing lunchtime shows na galing din sa rival networks. So it’s not going to be that easy na pagsamahin kami. But like I said, open naman ako, so we will just cross the bridge when we get there. Vic explained.
Meanwhile, 3Pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon’s producer and actor Coco Martin reiterated the value of providing a good film for the viewers as well making his co-actors proud of what they have worked on. For Coco, it’s not a matter of which film would become the top grosser but more of producing a film that will absolutely make the people feel that it’s worth it to watch the film
