Kapamilya actor Tony Labrusca on Monday said he was pleasantly surprised to be enjoying a comedy role.
During the press conference for The Mall, The Merrier in Quezon City, the former Glorious star admitted that he enjoyed doing the said comedy-fantasy film about rival sisters claiming ownership of a mall.
Tony said The Mall, The Merrier is his first comedy movie.
“Yes, this is my first comedy film. Well, you’ll see naman sa movie na hindi naman kailangan na komedyante ako,” the actor said in an exclusive interview with LionhearTV.
“Pero it was really fun kasi mas light and usually naman nasa drama ako. So it was fun. It was a good experience,” he added.
When asked if he is willing to do another comedy film in the near future, the 24-year old actor said, “Puwede.”
Tony is known for his role as Niko, a young lover to actress Angel Aquino in the 2018 romantic-drama movie Glorious.
His first break was playing the role of Jake Arguelles in 2017 horror-fantasy drama TV series, La Luna Sangre.
In The Mall, The Merrier film, Tony will play as Gardo, the partner of Vice Ganda’s character, Moira.
The movie is Vice’s seventh Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry since 2012.
The film marks the first big-screen team-up of Vice and actress Anne Curtis after working together for ten years as hosts of ABS-CBN noontime program It’s Showtime.
