- The Clash vocal coach Jai Sabas-Aracama aired her honest opinion about Jeniffer Maravillas’s trending performance
- She was disappointed that Jeniffer’s voice cracked while attempting to make a whistle note
- She then discouraged Jeniffer from making a whistle note again in her next performances
In the recent episode of her YouTube vlog ‘Jai Reacts,’ The Clash vocal coach Jai Sabas-Aracama aired her opinion about the trending performance of beauty queen Jeniffer Maravillas in the singing competition held last November 23.
The Clash finalist Jeniffer gained criticisms after making a failed whistle attempt on her rendition of the song “Hayaan Mo Sila” arranged by musical director Marc Lopez.
The UP Concert Chorus directress appreciated her vocal range but she was disappointed that the Clasher cracked her voice in her attempt to whistle. She also pointed out that it was needless for her to do it in the performance.
Coach Jai stated, “Noong rehearsal, sabi namin ni Sir Marc Lopez, ang music director nitongThe Clash 2, nag-agree kami na you don’t need to whistle. Hindi kailangan. Your voice and arrangement is super enough to bring you in. And siguro dahil sa kaba at ‘yung kanilang experience sa buhay na akala nila ang pag-whistle ang makakadala sa kanila beyond this stage.”
Despite this, Coach Jai also commended the singer for “recovering” after her failed whistle attempt. She then said that she still believes in the capacity of Jeniffer tagged as the ‘Birit Beauty ng Malabon’.
The Clash vocal coach said, “Let me commend her also even if she did that kasi inexperienced. Hindi madaling bumawi sa gitna ng pagkapiyok niya. Alam ko ‘yung feeling n’ya na kapag nagkamali sa gitna, paano ka magre-recover. Naka-recover s’ya. Well in the end, nag-advise kami lahat na don’t do that anymore. Pero alam nila, alam namin ang capacity ni Jeniffer so ingat [‘yung Clashers.]
Prior to this, Jeniffer first joined It’s Showtime‘s singing contest ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ in 2017 but was unfortunately gonged. Aside from being a fitness enthusiast, she takes vocal training with Coach Foilan Canlas. She also joined several beauty pageants and even represented Malabon City during the Face of Tourism Philippines this year.
