Present during the signing were Shanti, Universal Records Executive Vice President Ramon Chuaying, Universal Records Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go and Business Managers Thea Pollisco and Lester Vano (DJ Klumcee).
After joining the label in late 2017, Shanti became the breakout artist of 2018 through his smash hit “Nadarang.”
Since then, he has garnered over 120M streams on music streaming platform Spotify, with a number of well-known hits such as “Shantidope (feat. Gloc-9),” “Amatz,” “Materyal,” and “Mau.”
On top of this, the 18 year old has collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the OPM scene such as Gloc-9, Chito Miranda, KZ Tandingan, and IV of Spades, even having international collaborations with Disney-alum Sabrina Carpenter, Hawaiian-Filipino singer MiMi The Artist, and Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugz-n-Harmony.
At his young age, Shanti has already celebrated mainstream success, putting out impressive flows and beats with lyrics about his experiences of struggles, triumphs, and love that speaks volumes and resonates with many.
This knack for songwriting and his unmatchable talent has since allowed him to bring his music in headlining shows across the US, Asia (Taiwan and Singapore), and Australia.
With all these up his sleeve, the future looks even brighter for the “young king” of Pinoy rap.
