Actress and host Maine Mendoza gamely answered questions during the recent presscon for her Metro Manila Film Festival movie Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity. Her relationship with Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde was also brought up in conversation.
The two recently celebrated their first anniversary as a couple this month. Unlike in the past, Maine and Arjo are now more open about their romance.
Maine said,”Kasi, wala naman nang dapat itago, open naman na po kami.”
The Eat Bulaga host also shared that they are now planning about their future together.
“Nag-uusap na rin kami about the future kasi, siyempre, tumatanda na rin ako. Siya, he just turned 29,” she said.
But she revealed that she wanted to hit the age of 28 before she ties the knot with her beau.
“Mahirap din kasi kaming magkakapatid, e, sunud-sunod. Yung kuya ko muna ‘tapos yung isa ko pang ate ‘tapos ako, so feeling ko mga 28.
“May dalawa pang kailangang ikasal. Tama lang kasi ang marrying age ko is 28.”
When asked if she sees her future with her current boyfriend, Maine replied, “Siyempre, hindi naman tayo magsasayang ng oras na kasama yung mga taong hindi natin gustong makasama habambuhay.”
She also told reporters, “Balikan n’yo ako kapag hindi nag-work ang mga bagay-bagay.”
As for her fans, Maine said she was thankful to them for supporting her and her personal life as well.
“Thankful rin ako kasi marami naman akong tagasuporta na sumusuporta rin sa personal life ko, na pati ‘yon sinusuportahan nila and minahal nila yung mga… ‘yon,” she shared.
The couple is also expected to top bill their very first movie together. This rumor came about after reports revealed that Arjo is currently busy writing a story for a film.
“Sana po, sana. Kasi mayroon din siyang sinusulat na istorya, and magpo-produce na rin naman siya,” Maine said.
“Ginagawa niya naman daw ‘yun for the two of us, ‘yung story,” she added.
Arjo first hinted at their relationship in January, after much speculation from fans. Maine then confirmed on her blog in March that she was dating Arjo.
