When Lolit Solis fired back at Janine Gutierrez for her reaction “Oh God” to Bong Revilla’s comeback series, the young GMA actress seemed to be unfazed.
Through her Twitter account, Janine made sure to express her contentment in doing projects that she loves and believes in, no matter what other people may say.
She said, “Officially done with work for the year! So happy I get to work with amazing people and so happy that this year, I’ve finally learned to say yes to only projects I really like and believe, no matter what other people say as it should be with everything else in life. PS Thank You.”

Lotlot de Leon defends daughter
“Di baleng ako na lang ang sabihan ng masasakit, tawagin ng kung anu-ano huwag lang siya,” Lotlot de Leon said in defense of daughter Janine. She also shared that when her daughter had asked for her approval to join the entertainment industry, she was hesitant at first.
Lotlot said, “Not because wala akong bilib sa kanya o sa kakayahan niya, but because I was afraid that this industry that I have grown up in can be very harsh sometimes. Puwede ka kaagad mahusgahan ng hindi ka natatanong kung bakit may nasabi ka o nagawa ka. Everyone else can give their opinions and share how they feel pero dahil artista ka may hangganan ang pagbibigay mo nun. Medyo unfair hehe!”
In the end, Lotlot allowed her daughter to join showbiz. She is also proud that she has raised a very respectful, level-headed, and smart daughter.
“What I saw in Janine’s eyes and felt when we had that conversation that day is that she was willing to learn and ‘accept everything’ that comes with being an artist and be the best version she can be in this profession that she has chosen. That’s why I said yes. Buong puso kong maipagmamalaki that I have raised a daughter that is very respectful, level-headed, smart, humble, and willing to take risks when needed.”
As a loving mother, Lotlot advised Janine that expressing yourself is okay and that she should continue doing what she loves for as long as she’s not hurting anybody.
The proud mom said, “It’s okay to say what you feel, to give your opinion and to be heard. Hindi kabawasan ng pagkatao yun lalo na kung nasa tama naman. These are all the things that I have learned. Babe, I love you. Just Continue with all the hard work and keep on swimming.”

Lolit, the talent manager of Bong, tried to defend herself and apologized to Lotlot. Lolit said that it was not her intention to belittle or dishonor the young Kapuso actress, but rather as an act of motherly love towards Bong Revilla.
“At tulad ni Lotlot de Leon na nasaktan dahil sa anak nia na si Janine Gutierrez, para din akong isang ina kay Bong Revilla na nasaktan din. But now, at least I know na never matatangap ni Janine Gutierrez si Bong Revilla. I respect that, I admire her for being open with her feelings. Sorry Lotlot.”
