- After 19 years, Carmina Villaroel stars in another horror film titled Sunod
- She shared that she followed some superstitions while shooting the film
- The film replaced Kris Aquino’s K(ampon) as a Metro Manila Film Festival entry
Sunod lead star Carmina Villaroel shared how she followed some superstitions, believing that these will protect her from ghosts while shooting the horror film. She admitted that she usually brings ginger and uses red underwear to ward off any lingering spirits.
“Every time we shoot po ‘di ba we always put ginger?” she said during a press conference for the film.
The actress shared that she had some terrifying experiences in the past which made her more careful.
So todo todo na ‘to, may luya ka na, may red underwear ka pa tapos mag-ganyan ganyan ka ng salt,” the actress said as she gestured towardsher feet.
Carmina believes that there is nothing wrong about following these superstitions.
Just to be safe kasi wala namang masama kung gawin naman.”
Sunod is the only horror movie among the eight official entries of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) opening on December 25. It is produced by Ten17 productions of director-producer Paul Soriano in partnership with Globe Studios.
Other cast members of the upcoming film also include Mylene Dizon, Susan Africa, and Kate Alejandrino under the direction of Carlo Ledesma.
The film was a replacement for another horror film K(ampon) which was supposed to star Kris Aquino and Derek Ramsay that was later disqualified for cast issues.
Carmina had her last MMFF film in the year 1990 in an episode of “Kulam” as part of Shake, Rattle & Roll 2.
