Pinoy pop group SB19 earned the sixth spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart last Wednesday, November 20, 2019, right next to the fifth spot of Korean pop boy band A.C.E.
Fans of SB19 were really glad about the good news which went viral with the use of the hashtag #SB19onBillboardNBS.
How SB19 began
SB19’s popularity started when a netizen shared a video of the group’s jaw-dropping dance rehearsal on Twitter for their single “Go Up.” As of this writing, the viral post has garnered more than 1.1 million views with 27.1K retweets.

SB19 is comprised of Sejun, Stell, Justin, Ken, and Josh who are being handled by ShowBT, the local branch of a Korean entertainment group. SB19’s leader Sejun revealed that they are actually the ones who wrote their songs in Taglish. He also added that they aim to entertain people through dancing and singing.
“Ang mga Pilipino sobrang talented po niyan sa lahat ng larangan. Magaling kumanta, magaling sumayaw, umakting. ‘Yun po ‘yung maipapakita naming sa ibang bansa. Iyung ginagawa po naming ngayon, ito po ‘yung first time na makikita namin at papausuhin naming sing and dance, dancing heartily and singing heartily at the same time. Kumbaga, maipapakita naming ‘yung talento ng Pilipino na all-around talaga tayo.”
SB19 received Favorite Group of the Year award
Recently, SB19 won the “Favorite Group of the Year” award from Lionheartv during its 5th edition of the RAWR Awards last November 14, 2019.
The group expressed their gratitude and appreciation towards the people behind their success and have helped the group to bag “Favorite Group of the Year” award.
“Sobrang saya ng grupo namin ngayon kasi talagang these days, sobrang daming biyaya natatanggap namin. Just tonight, natanggap naming ‘yung news na nanalo kami ‘yung RAWR award for the most favorite group of the year! Sobrang thankful naming for the man above. And of course, to Sir Robin, Sir Charles, Teacher Honggada, and of course, to all the staff who helped us. Makakalimutan ba natin ‘yung lovelye A’tins!
