Trending on social media is the news of the upcoming movie team-up of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano star Coco Martin.
The two popular celebrities are teaming up for the movie, “3pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon.”
The film is Coco’s official entry for the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) happening in December.
In an ABS-CBN interview, Isko said he will be playing “as himself” — a city mayor
He also thanked Coco for giving him the opportunity to play a role in the movie.
“I am grateful to Mr. Coco Martin and the staff… They included me in the movie,” the mayor said.
“Mga ano lang naman, a few scenes,” he added.
The actor-turned-politician said they had begun filming and he has already performed some of his scenes.
The mayor said he will donate his earnings from the movie to the Philippine General Hospital.
“Sabi ko sa kanila, ibigay nila sa PGH (Philippine General Hospital) ‘yung yadba (bayad) nila sa akin,” he noted.
Isko also admitted that he missed his old life as an actor.
But he revealed that he’s receiving more endorsement deals now than before and he was thankful for the opportunities given to him.
“Nakaka-miss… Kaya nga ako natutuwa (to be in the film) eh,” Isko said.
“Noong artista ako, hindi ako naging model, eh. Ngayon eh sa nanka (kanan) at sa wakali (kaliwa) meron eh,” he added.
Isko hoped that no one will get offended when they see his face on billboards, saying it is not a form of publicity.
“It has nothing to do with (propaganda)… Trabaho lang ‘yun,” he said.
“Hindi ko naman ibinubuhat ang bangko sa inyo… ‘Ni singko doon wala akong pinakinabangan, at the very least,” he added.
Moreno earlier donated his P1 million talent fee from Jag Jeans and P1.5 million from his endorsement for I.M. Coffee to the PGH cancer ward for children.
Following the lead of Isko, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, Tata Motors Philippines, and at least four other firms also donated to the PGH around P32 million, including an ambulance donation.
Last September, Coco shared on Instagram a photo of himself talking to Isko, which then sparked speculations on a possible onscreen team-up
Aside from Isko and Coco, Jennylyn Mercado and A-iAi delas Alas also star in the film “3pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon.”
