Up-and-coming artist JMKO introduces his latest single “Timeless,” a far cry from the usual themes presented in songs nowadays since it took inspiration from no less than Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados’ advocacy on caring for the elderly.
Written, arranged and performed by the 25-year-old artist, the heartwarming song emphasizes the need to shower the elderly with unconditional and long-lasting affection, especially one’s own grandparents. It pushes listeners to devote more appreciation and time to individuals who are past their prime days.
The record, produced under Star Music, also features a speech from Gazini herself, in which she encourages others to “give back to the people who took care of us, who have contributed to our core, the foundation of our being.”
JMKO, whose real name is Miko Manguba, is an emerging singer-songwriter who recently signed under Star Music. Earlier this year, he released the song “Isla,” which boasts of a chill island vibe and a catchy tune, as well as “Ano Nga Ba Tayo,” an emotional track that was featured on the original soundtrack of the iWant original series “Mga Batang Poz.” He is only one of the many talented artists under the ABS-CBN Music—home to many of the best OPM music of today from the country’s leading media and entertainment company, ABS-CBN.
