In Tonight with Boy Abunda last Monday, October 28, James Reid clarified his reasons for leaving Viva Artists Agency and clarified that he’s on good terms with his former agency.
James told Boy, “The contract has ended but I’m moving on to other things, I’m exploring my career in another way. I’ve just moved on and I owe a lot to Viva and Boss Vic for what they have done to me in the past. It’s just I feel like it’s time for me to try something else, I wanna go to a different direction.”
To emphasize that he’s really on good terms with Viva, James revealed that Viva’s Boss Vic Del Rosario is close with his father and they talk a lot, even after the actor decided to leave the agency.
James appreciates Nadine’s full support during tough times
The Soulmate lead star admitted that he once experienced from depression. During this time, he wanted to drop everything and leave, especially when people and fans were telling him what he should do in his career and his life.
Luckily, Nadine Lustre helped him by staying beside him throughout this part of his journey.
“With her, I didn’t have to pretend to be anyone, I could just be myself completely, pick my nose in front of her. It was liberating for me. In the end she became the only one that I wanted to please and she definitely helped me through probably the darkest time of my life, and I’ve been there for her, through hers.”
He said: “No one understood me the way that she did and I couldn’t talk to anyone else about my problems. Being able to share it with someone, because like I would just bottle it all up and try to forget it but it doesn’t work that way. Pain shared is half the pain.”
