In a recent epsiode of Tonight With Boy Abunda, Kapamilya actor James Reid was asked to pick his possible leading ladies.
The Multimedia Prince said he is willing to work in a project with actresses Liza Soberano, Kathryn Bernardo, Yassi Pressman (“a friend of mine since Diary Ng Panget”) and Janella Salvador (“if we could work together, hopefully with some music”).
But the actor diverged with his answer when Julia Barretto’s name popped up as one of his possible leading ladies.
James said “no” to working with Julia who was once romantically linked to him. “I have no problem with her at all. It’s just that there’s too much noise [when it comes to fans]. Let’s make life easy,” he explained.
Julia is currently facing intrigues after her mother Marjorie figured in a fight with her sisters Claudine and Gretchen.
In the same interview, James was also asked about the possible actors to be paired up with his onscreen and real-life girlfriend Nadine Lustre.
James gave his approval to Daniel Padilla, Joshua Garcia (“I can see the project happening”), Arjo Atayde (“an amazing actor”), and Coco Martin (“if it will be an action project because Nadine has always wanted to do action”).
But when asked about Gerald Anderson who was recently embroiled in a controversy, James became iffy and said, “It’s hard to say no when he’s smiling like that.”
James and Nadine, popularly known for their love team name JaDine, will be celebrating their fourth anniversary as a couple in February 2020.
They are one of the most admired celebrity couples today and many are curious about how they remained strong throughout the years.
James explained, “It’s good to be in a relationship where you feel safe and solid.In any relationship, I don’t give [my girlfriend] any reason to feel jealous or insecure.”
Is James entertaining those who want to spend the night with him?
James only laughed off the matter and replied, “No, they don’t even get close”.
The Kapamilya actor also stressed that he is not yet planning about having kids presently.
“I would love to have kids, but I don’t know if I can have them. I don’t know if I want to bring another life into the world the way that it is now.”
James openly shared that it was Nadine who helped him while he was still struggling with depression.
“With her, I didn’t have to pretend to be anyone,” he said. “I could just be myself completely. She helped me through the darkest time of my life, and I’ve been there for her for hers.”
Nadine had previously acknowledged that she suffered from depression. She once talked about how her brother’s suicide in 2017 greatly affected her.
