It seems that Gretchen Barretto has ceased to post tirades online days after she figured in a scuffle with her younger sister, Marjorie.
This followed after Gutierrez matriarch Annabelle Rama seemingly scared off Gretchen after she rebuked the former’s daughter Ruffa for commenting on Julia Barretto’s IG post with the word “freshhhh.”
Gretchen posted a screenshot of Julia’s post with the caption: “Sawsaw pa more Ruffy!! Take it! Take it! WOW!”
Annabelle then fired back at Gretchen by posting a photo of the Annabelle doll (as seen in the horror movie of the same name) last October 23, 2019.
During her 67th birthday bash held at Palm Grove, Amorsolo Building in Rockwell Center, Annabelle was asked if she was really the reason behind Gretchen’s silence online. But the veteran actress only laughed off the matter. She also warned that Gretchen might continue to receive bold statements from her if she continues to lash out at her daughter Ruffa again.
“Ayoko ng magsalita pa kasi tumahimik naman din siya eh.Kung di siya tumahimik, mahaba pa ang sasabihin ko,” Annabelle said.
She added, “Pero pag lumalaban siya, continue pa rin ako. Di ako magpapa-under sa kanino, noh!”
The celebrity mom also admitted that she had no idea why Gretchen got offended by the ‘fresh’ comment of her daughter reiterating that it was harmless.
“Of course! Ipinagtanggol ko lang anak ko kasi wala man siyang masamang comment against anybody. Sinabi lang niya ‘fresh,'” she laughingly said.
She also clarified that there was no dispute existing between her daughter and Gretchen prior to this.
“Wala na. Tumahimik na. Wala akong kaaway na. ‘Fresh’ lang ang sabi ni Ruffa, magagalit na siya? Kaibigan ko naman siya. Mahal ko yan, eh. Pero hindi ko alam bakit nagalit siya,” she added.
Meanwhile, Ruffa was also asked for her side about the issue. But the actress only gave a vague answer in reaction to her mother’s attack on Gretchen.
“No comment. I have a very peaceful and happy life,” Ruffa quipped.
The former beauty queen admitted that she was shocked after being dragged into the issue.
“Pati ako nagulat. We’re not best friends anymore matagal na akong umiwas sa kanya, 2008 pa since umiwas ako.
“I just wanna maintain a peaceful life,” Ruffa reiterated.
“Wala akong kaaway na artista. Napaka-peace loving ko and napkabait ko so if ever na merong problema, silang nakaaway sa akin. Never ako nag-aaway,” she stressed.
“Gusto ko lang linawin sa lahat ng mga tao na wala akong kinakampihan, hindi ako sumasawsaw. Ako’y nananahimik,” she concluded.
