Always be humble and don’t let success get to your head.
This was Aga Muhlach’s career advice to child star Xia Vigor.
The 10-year-old actress is now working with the veteran actor on the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean movie Miracle in Cell No. 7.
“Sinabi po niya (Aga) sa akin na dapat daw po, kahit anong mangyari, kahit magkaroon ako ng maraming awards at maraming shows, huwag daw po lalaki ang ulo ko,” Xia said on the sidelines of the LionheartTV’s 5th RAWR Awards Night at Core Bar in Quezon City.
“Kasi doon daw po mawawala ang lahat,” she added.
Even at a young age, Xia knows she’s lucky that the 50-year-old actor imparted some of his wisdom to her as he has one of the most celebrated careers in the industry.
“Forever ko po i-a-apply ‘yon (advice) sa sarili ko. Lalo na po si Tito Aga po ang nagsabi sa akin niyan,” she said.
The child actress plays Aga’s daughter in the Filipino remake of Miracle in Cell No. 7. She is the younger version of the character of Bela Padilla, who replaced Nadine Lustre in the movie.
“Very challenging po ang role ko dito. Marami po kasi crying scenes. Ang bibigat po ng eksena,” Xia said.
“Mabuti po at tinutulungan po ako ni Tito Aga. Sinasabihan po niya ko kung ano pa po ang mga dapat ko gawin,” she added.
Miracle in Cell No. 7Â is a multi-awarded Korean drama-comedy film that was released in 2013.
It follows the story of Yong-gu, a mentally challenged single father who was wrongly imprisoned for the murder of a young girl.
The Filipino remake was named one of the official entries for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival to be held in December.
Xia was the recipient of this year’s RAWR Royal Cub Award, which recognizes young individuals or groups that exhibited excellence in their craft and have earned respect for their passion and talents that they have shared with the world.
“Sobrang saya ko po. Dahil second time ko na po nakakuha dito sa RAWR Awards,” the child actress said after receiving her trophy.
“Sobrang grateful po ako dahil talagang hindi pa rin po nila ako nakakalimutan,” she added.
Xia won the Bibo Award in LionhearTV RAWR Awards in 2017.
To be a recipient of this award, a child star must shown dedication at work despite his or her young age.
Xia rose to fame after joining the season one of Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids.
She got the attention of the netizens, including the international media, for impersonating American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
