- Many viewers wondered why Bugoy Cariño was suspended from Hashtags
- Circulating rumors said that Bugoy got his girlfriend EJ Laure pregnant
- Bugoy broke his silence about the issue
Bugoy Cariño landed in hot water following persistent speculations that he had gotten his rumored girlfriend and volleyball player EJ Laure pregnant.
This supposedly resulted in It’s Showtime management’s decision to suspend Bugoy, who hasn’t appeared on the noontime show for several months now.
In a recent interview, Bugoy finally broke his silence and released his statement about the issue.
The former Hashtags member reiterated that the rumor about his girlfriend being pregnant was not true.
He also added that he is not the type of person who always posts his pictures online denying the allegations of the netizens.
Bugoy said he just laughed off these allegations.
His then fellow Hashtags member Jon Lucas was also suspended from the group due to his girlfriend getting pregnant. But Bugoy explained that this was not the reason for him leaving the group.
Ngayon po, di pa pinapalabas,” he shared.
He clarified that his side jobs and preparations for his two movies Dance Step and Sulok ng Pangarap led him to leave Hashtags.
He also admitted that he felt a bit upset about his suspension since he really wanted to be a Hashtags dancer.
Bugoy said that he currently misses performing on stage and bonding with his friends on It’s Showtime.
It was on Valentine’s Day 2017 when a new batch of Hashtag members was introduced including Bugoy Cariño, Vitto Marquez, Wilbert Ross, Maru Delgado, CK Kieron, Kid Yambao, Rayt Carreon, and Franco Hernandez.
In March 2018, many viewers noticed Bugoy was no longer appearing as a Hashtags performer.
Bugoy was discovered when he joined Star Circle Kid Quest, a television search for young talented kids, in 2009 where he emerged as the winner. Since then, he has appeared in numerous television shows, films, and endorsed several local brands in the Philippines.
