Bela Padilla says she is open to working again with Kapuso star Marian Rivera.
In an interview with Boy Abunda on Tonight With Boy Abunda‘s Fast Talk segment, Bela was asked if she’s willing to work with Marian again.
“Would you ever work on a project with Marian Rivera?” Abunda asked.
Bela then gave a straightforward one-word answer, “Oo”.
The rift
Bela and Marian had some problems in the past. In 2010, the two were at the center of controversy after a “comfort room locking” incident.
According to news accounts, during the taping of GMA teledrama Endless Love where the two were co-stars together with Marian’s then-boyfriend Dingdong Dantes, Marian supposedly locked Bela inside a bathroom and verbally attacked her.
Marian allegedly didn’t like Bela’s closeness with Dingdong on the set, prompting her to confront the latter.
In the account of Bela’s grandmother Eva Cariño as told in an interview with talk show Paparazzi, Marian allegedly cursed at Bela.
“‘Ayokong makita ang pagmumukha mo. Ang pangit, pangit mo… tsaka hindi ka marunong umarte. Boba.’ Sabi, ‘Wala namang gusto sa’yo si Dingdong ha.’ Paulit ulit na sinabi ng ganoon,” were what Marian allegedly said to Bela according to Cariño.
Four years after the incident, the two were able to patch things up through the help of GMA. Bela even guested on Marian’s variety show Marian in 2014.
Bela was also asked about Zanjoe Marudo.
“Susulatan mo ng screen si Zanjoe Marudo, give it a title,” said Boy.
“Hahaha, bakit po?..Pede bang sulatan ko na lang yung sarili ko…Ano ba…ahhm for Z, ‘Malamig ba dyan sa taas’..tangkad sya eh,” Bela answered.
