James Reid’s upcoming series on ABS-CBN with Nancy McDonie of Momoland is about to give a new perspective to viewers through its format which is similar to US and Korean series.
Unlike the usual Pinoy TV series which depends on ratings to sustain their run, Soulmate‘s number of episodes will be decided upon even before it airs.
Soulmate will be limited to 13 episodes and scripts will be done before it starts, as opposed to the usual scenario of writers coming up with a script on a daily basis.
“Hindi siya teleserye. It’s a series because it’s 13 episodes. It’s not like how we do teleseryes na you do it per script every day with a weekly script. It’s more my kind of process. I write the whole series na, unlike in teleseryes na hindi mo alam kung kailan siya matatapos,” director Anoinette Jadaone explained.
As of this writing, Director Jadaone revealed that she’s still working on the scripts which she admitted was more difficult.
“There is more control sa kung ano mang mangyayari sa bawat character, sa story. But also, mas mahirap siya, kasi I realized it’s not the same as writing a film script, a screenplay. It’s different. It’s harder to write a series pala. Pero since andiyan na, gagalingan ko na lang!”
In partnership with ABS-CBN and MLD Management of Korea, Soulmate will include some travel scenes to capture the amazing sceneries in the Philippines.
