Janno Gibbs recently admitted that his relationship with ABS-CBN is still on the rocks because of the controversial comment he made last year on his Instagram account.
“Di pa rin okay. Sana maging okay. Alam ko naman iyong ginawa ko na nag-post ako,” the singer-comedian said in his recent interview with the media.
“Well, kung titingnan n’yo naman iyong post ko may smiley naman ‘yon tsaka laughing face at peace sign. So medyo pa-cute naman iyong post ko. Pero siyempre nung pinick-up na nung iba, nawala na iyong smiley face… Naging serious na iyong dating,” he added.
Janno aired his disappointment in the form of jest on Instagram about his exclusion from the ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID 2018 while other popular singers were present.
The actor claimed that the Kapamilya network forgot about him.
In his Instagram post on November 18 last year, Janno shared a photo taken during his contract signing and told netizens not to look for him in the network’s station ID.
“Throwback to September 12 this year (2018) when I signed with Star Music Philippines. Naalala ko lang. Sila yata di ako naalala e,” he wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags #wagnyokohanapinsastationid” and #asapnilayan.”
Janno has already deleted the controversial post.
But it garnered mixed reactions from netizens and most were displeased about his post for it displayed his unprofessionalism.
His father, Ronaldo Valdez, also reacted on the issue, saying Janno might just be unlucky this year.
In his recent interview, Janno humbly acknowledged his mistake.
He said the reaction of ABS-CBN management to his post was “valid.”
However, he hoped that all issues will be ironed out soon, so he can already work with ABS-CBN and also with GMA Network.
“I’m hoping to still work with ABS-CBN soon and also with GMA,” the 50-year old artist said.
“Actually, nag-e-enjoy ako ng freelance. Kahit saan puwede ako. But I hope to work with both (networks) soon,” he added.
In one his earlier interviews, Janno said he has already apologized to ABS-CBN management.
During the premiere night of the movie Sanggano, Sangggago’t Sanggwapo last September 2, the singer-actor said he had no intention of offending ABS-CBN management.

“I’m a comedian. In jest naman ‘yun, may halong patawa naman ‘yung post ko,” he said.
“(Pero) Hindi ko inaalis sa mga (ABS-CBN) bosses na masaktan sila, kaya I’m really sorry for that,” he added.
Janno is now preparing for his upcoming movie Mang Jose from VIVA Films. He will play the character of Mang Jose, who is a superhero for rent.
The film is his reunion movie with former on and off-screen partner, Manilyn Reynes.
