Prior to Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes was the original cross-over Kapuso star.
Dingdong was the first GMA Network big star to do a film with its rival Star Cinema. Because of the success of his Star Cinema films, his wife Marian Rivera followed suit via Kung Fu Divas with Ai-Ai Delas Alas in 2013.
But not until Alden Richard’s Hello, Love, Goodbye—which now holds the record for the highest grossing Filipino film of all time—that many Kapuso stars are now showing interest in doing a movie with ABS-CBN Films.

Some of the GMA Network artists which showed interest and wished to work with Kapamilya stars are:
1. Rocco Nacino
During the press con of his latest movie Write About Love, where he was able to work with Kapamilya stars Joem Bascon and Yeng Constantino, Rocco shared his willingness to work with Star Cinema if given a chance. He said working with stars from the rival network somehow eases network wars which is very healthy for the movie industry.
“If ano, gusto nila, why not. We have the same goal, to make quality movies. Maraming pagbabagong mangyayari,” said Nacino.
“Mas healthy kapag walang network wars. Kasi naman mas maraming magkakaroon ng trabaho. Maganda yung united lahat, this is proof na kaya natin,” he added
2. Sanya Lopez
Another Kapuso star who showed interest to do a movie with Kapamilya stars is Sanya Lopez. In an interview, Lopez said there’ll be no problem with her doing a film with the Kapamilya film outfit as long as the story is good.
“Basta mabigyan lang ako ng magandang project o kahit sino pa na kasama na Kapamilya stars. Kahit babae pa nga yan eh okay lang sa akin. Ready naman ako. Tatanggapin ko po ‘yon. Ang importante naman sa akin ay maganda ‘yong storya,” she said
When asked if she was ready to work with then controversial Gerald Anderson, Sanya said she’s more than willing.
“Why not? Trabaho lang naman. Pagdating sa trabaho, binibigay ko naman yun so if ever si Gerald, pwede naman po. Wala naman sigurong masama,” Sanya answered.
3. Julie Anne San Jose
Kapuso singer-host Julie Anne San Jose is also one of those GMA Network stars who shared openness to work with Kapamilya stars.
In an interview during the grand launching of Miniso in collaboration with IP Marvel at the SM Mall of Asia, last August 3, 2019, Julie Anne shared her wish to do films like the hit Hello, Love, Goodbye.
“We’re just happy for the success of their movie and we also hope na we make more movies like that.” she said
She also added that if opportunities arise she will gladly accept it.
“Of course naman, okay. Wala namang ako sinasarang pintuan pagkadating sa opportunities and yeah, opo, hopefully makagawa po ng movie,” added Julie Anne.
4.Ruru Madrid
Kapuso leading man Ruru Madrid also wished to have the chance to work with Kapamilya leading ladies. Given a choice he said he wants to work with Bea Alonzo.
“Siguro sobrang gusto kong maka work si Bea Alonzo,” he said
Aside from Bea, Madrid also shared an interest to work with Liza Soberano.
“Sobrang gusto ko rin siya maka-work. I mean, hindi lang siya maganda, e. Sobrang talented din niya, magaling din siya umarte so hopefully someday,” Madrid revealed.
5. Barbie Forteza
Kapuso lead actress Barbie Forteza also looks forward to working with several Kapamilya stars.
In an interview, Barbie revealed her dream of working with John Lloyd Cruz.
“Gustung-gusto ko pong makatrabaho si Mr. John Lloyd Cruz kasi sobrang galing po niyang umarte at saka mabait at guwapo.”
Aside from John Lloyd, Barbie also wants to work with top-caliber Kapamilya actors Joel Torre, John Jericho Rosales, Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos, and Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
