- Netizens shared funny tweets and memes about Secretary Salvador Panelo
- Sec. Panelo finished his commute challenge in more that 4 hours and he was late to work.
Sec. Salvador Panelo has fulfilled the challenge of commuting from his house to Malacanang.
On Friday, October 11, Panelo took public transportation from his home in Marikina to his office in Malacanang.
Leaving as early as 5:15 AM, Panelo experienced a bit of the hardship everyday commuters face as it took him more than 4 hours to arrive at Malacanang. Incidentally, he was almost an hour late as Malacanang usually starts its work day at 8 AM.
From several minutes of waiting just to get a ride (thanks to policemen who helped him get a ride), to squeezing into packed public vehicles, to getting offloaded from a broken tricycle, to finally hitching a ride on a motorcycle to Malacanang, the palace spokesman got a small taste of Filipino’s everyday commuting woes.
Celebrities and netizens reminded Panelo how he belittled commuters’ plight though laughable memes and funny tweets.
Staunch admin critic Agot Isidro tweeted Panelo of his infamous line that there is no transport crisis yet in the metro.
Ok.
Now do that everyday.
Wala pa ring krisis? https://t.co/K35VuAD5y2

Late na sya para sa normal na pasok na 8:00 AM ng taga gobyerno at masama nito nadamay pa ibang pasahero. Charot! https://t.co/TdmK6tifJF

She also joked about a round two of the challenge since Panelo already finished the first one.
