Just like in Kantar Media, ‘Sandugo,‘ which started airing on Monday (September 30), received high ratings in NUTAM compared to its rival show ‘Dahil sa Pag-ibig.’ The pilot episode of ‘Sandugo’ hit 7.6%, or 1 point higher against GMA Network’s ‘Dahil sa Pag-ibig‘s’ 6.6%.
Despite its finale week, ‘Dahil sa Pag-ibig’ still received disappointing ratings with lowest rating of 6.0% on Tuesday to Thursday while ‘Sandugo‘ peaked on Wednesday with 8.3%.
‘Dahil sa Pag-ibig’ ended last Friday with 6.9% rating while its Kapamilya rival got 8.2%.
The story of ‘Sandugo‘ began with the family of fraternal twins Julius and Aris suffering from the financial weight of Julius’ treatments for his heart condition. Because of this, Aris grows up desiring the approval and attention of their parents Eugene (Ariel Rivera) and Joan (Cherry Pie Picache). While Aris is envious and ruthlessly ambitious, Julius is a person with principles just like their father and is always teased for being a weakling because of his illness.
The family starts to crumble when Joan sacrifices her values and gives Aris away to a wealthy couple in exchange for a large amount of money she intends to use to save Julius’ life. This separation is only the beginning of the brother’s (Ejay Falcon and Aljur Abrenica) hostile relationship as they grow up and eventually clash with each other from opposing sides of the law without knowledge of each other’s true identities.
