- Keempee De Leon admits no closure yet with Eat Bulaga
- Keempee said he made the right decision to transfer networks.
Kapamilya actor Keempee De Leon admitted that there was still no closure between him and the management of Eat Bulaga.
In an interview by Pep.ph during the finale presscon of the ABS-CBN daytime teleserye Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit, Keempee shared that he wasn’t able to settle the issue between himself and Eat Bulaga when he transferred to ABS-CBN.
“Actually, wala nang closure or pag-uusap or anything…
“It’s just that I just had to let go,” he said.
Keempee confided that he made a decision because he don’t want to get stuck at that point of his life. He even confessed that he had gone through depression during that time, but the offer from the Kapamilya network to do Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit saved his life.
“Kumbaga, hindi ako makaka-move on if nandun lang ako sa area na iyon.
“So, I guess, I just have to be thankful about it na kung hindi rin siguro dahil sa nangyari na iyon, hindi ko rin matatanggap ang show na ito na nagbukas ng bagong pinto para sa akin, hindi lang sa personal, but sa career ko,” Keempee shared.

Keempee was a mainstay of Eat Bulaga for 14 years. But not until he joined the GMA teledrama Meant To Be in 2017 that he was bumped off the show for no clear reasons.
According to Keempee, he asked permission from Eat Bulaga to do Meant To Be and they agreed that he would go back to hosting after the series. But after the series ended, he wasn’t called back by the management of Eat Bulaga and that prompted him to accept the offer of ABS-CBN.
De Leon said he made the right decision to accept the Kapamilya project especially that the show is a consistent top rater in the daytime block.
Meanwhile, prior to Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit, Keempee also did some ABS-CBN shows like Mana-Mana in 1992 and Klasmeyts in 2002.
Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit is now down to its last week after seven months on air. No definite project is lined-up for Keempee yet but he said he’s just going to wait.
“Wala pang follow-up, pero I’m praying na sana may next project.
“I guess I’ll just gonna wait.”
