- Nadine Lustre has decided to lie low from showbiz
- Nadine said that she personally chose to back out from the film Miracle in Cell No. 7
Nadine Lustre has stated her reasons for backing out from the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2019 movie Miracle in Cell No. 7. Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla has been chosen to replace her and work with the film’s leading actor Aga Muhlach.
The Multimedia Princess said that she has decided to lie low from showbiz to free herself from hectic schedules.
“Ngayon po kasi, medyo nag-lie low ako,” Nadine said.
“Parang naisip ko lang po kasi na medyo naging hectic na po ako. Last year pa, actually.
“Simula nang mag-shoot kami ng Ulan, since last year pa hanggang mid-year this year ng 2019, parang naisip ko na gusto ko namang ibigay sa sarili ko yung the rest of the year.”
The actress also added that she wants to spend some time on her creative endeavors.
“Hindi naman po draining, pero ako po kasi yung klase ng tao na kapag hindi ko naaasikaso ang sarili ko creatively—mahilig po kasi akong mag-travel lang, music lang or magbabasa lang—parang nade-depress ako kapag hindi ako nakakagawa ng anything na creative.”
Will she star again in a movie next year?
“We’ll see, tingnan po natin,” Nadine replied.
“Pero lalabas na po ang Your Moment, parang talent search siya with a twist. Ipapalabas na po yata siya ngayong November.
“Yun po ang na-brief sa akin, pero hindi po ako sure,” she told the press during her launch as the ambassador of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Liga2Kontrabida last September 29, Sunday held at the SM Mall of Asia.
The ABS-CBN reality show Your Moment will also include Billy Crawford and Boy Abunda as part of the panel. The said show is said to air in the first half of 2020.
Nadine was notably one of the busiest actresses recently. She starred in two Viva films for this year namely: Ulan and Indak. She bagged three best actress awards from FAMAS, Young Critics Circle and Gawad Urian for her performance in the movie Never Not Love You.
She is now preoccupied with composing songs. She also revealed that she is working on a new album now.
“Tingnan po natin. Mahirap din po kasi kapag ikaw ang sumusulat ng kanta. Hindi siya ganun kadali. You know, going to the studio, kailangan uupo ka lang dun, babantayan mo kasama ang producer mo.”
Nadine confirmed that her song will be under the record label of boyfriend James Reid’s Careless Music Manila.
“But now din kasi, even with the label, medyo lie low rin muna ako.
“Wala pa rin akong medyo nalalabas na song. We’re just waiting for the right time.”
During her hiatus, the actress said that she felt happy and refreshed.
“Ako, I’m really happy.
“I feel very refreshed. Iba, iba po talaga kapag nakapagpahinga ka. Alam mo yung nagagawa mo yung gusto mo. Meron din po kasi akong mga inaasikaso na mga financial.”
Nadine made clarifications about James leaving the Viva Artist Agency, “With James naman po kasi, I think his contract ended na, that’s why.”
She was also rumored to follow James on leaving the said agency but the actress denied this.
“As for me, I’ve been with Viva for 10 years. Okay naman po kami,” she said.
Nadine was also very happy that she was picked as the ambassador of the popular online game Mobile Legends.
“I’m really happy of all the artists na puwede nilang kunin, ako yung kinuha nila. Nang malaman ko na kinuha ako ng Mobile Legends, naglaro ulit ako.
“Yung time din kasi, mahirap. E, dati, kapag naglalaro ako sa mga video games, walang tayuan talaga, so mahirap.”
Nadine also shared that James was also happy for her. Nadine believes that the domination of e-games in the country and our participation in the SEA Games is a good thing.
“Yun nga, parang in thing na rin ang e-games ngayon. Ako, I’m really, really happy sa nangyayari ngayon. Marami talagang gamers na ito talaga ang ginagawa nilang business. Yung mga streaming and all. Katulad ng kapatid ko, nagte-test siya ng mga games, so it’s really a thing na rin kasi. And it’s nice na this time, everyone is taking it seriously,” Nadine shared.
Nadine was once a member of the all-female group Pop Girls. She rose to prominence after playing the lead role of Eya Rodriguez in the film adaptation of the popular Wattpad novel Diary ng Panget (2014) with James.
She then starred in the films Talk Back and You’re Dead (2014), Para sa Hopeless Romantic, Beauty and the Bestie (2015), This Time (2016), and Never Not Love You (2018). Her popular teleseryes include On The Wings of Love (2015) and Till I Met You (2016).
