- Marian Rivera is happy for Jennylyn Mercado’s role in Descendants of The Sun.
- Marian denied DongYans (Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera fans) are behind the bashing of Jennylyn.
Marian Rivera denied that there’s a rift between her and fellow Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado.
In an interview with the press during the launch of her latest endorsement Walter Mart, Marian addressed the issue regarding Jennylyn’s role in the upcoming Kapuso drama Descendants of the Sun.
According to Marian, prior to the announcement of Jennylyn’s role, her husband Dingdong Dantes already told her the news and she said that she believes Jen fits the role.
“Bagay naman si Jen dun, e. Saka ang dami nang nagawa ni Jen na mga Kore-Korean, e,” said Marian.
Meanwhile, asked about some DongYans’ alleged threats to boycott DOTS because she was not chosen for the role, Marian said she doesn’t believe that those were DongYans because they are not narrow minded accoording to her.
“Hindi ako naniniwala na sinasabi iyan ng mga maka-DongYan. Kasi, ang maka-DongYan, hindi makikitid ang utak,” Marian responded.
She also added that their true fans and supporters will give their 100 percent support to their projects whoever their partners may be.
“Kung sino ang partner namin, alam namin na 100 percent ang suporta nila,” she explained.
Jennylyn will play the role of Dr. Maxine dela Cruz in GMA Network’s adaptation of hit Korean series Descendants of the Sun alongside Dingdong Dantes.
Marian, on the other hand, is set to go back to hosting via Sunday Pinasaya and Tadhana. She said she’ll take a rest from doing teledramas for the meantime to focus on her family.
