After James Reid recently left Viva Artists Agency, speculations rose that he was planning to transfer to another network. James denied this and said he wanted to be independent to focus on his music career.
Last Friday, October 4, there was a surprise announcement that James will be teaming up Korean Artist Lee Geu Roo also known as Momoland’s Nancy McDonie for a project with ABS-CBN. Produced under Dreamscape Productions, the upcoming series will be entitled Soulmate.
Netizens soon spread the news on different social media platforms.
A viral video on Facebook of James giving flowers to his new leading lady Nancy had netizens shipping them.

Solid fans of Jadine even agreed with James for not shipping him with another actress since he’s very loyal to Nadine.

this is a new partnership. they're co-actors.
and it's a welcome change in the industry. To promote something not formulaic.James (JaDine) is beyond that love team tag already.

The series will be directed by Antoinette Jadaone, who also directed the hit teleserye On the Wings of Love and the movie Never Not Love You which starred JaDine.
While the story line of the series was not discussed, James assured fans that it will be one of a kind.
Co-star Nancy who is acting in a drama for the first time stated in her interview with Ganiel Krishnan that, “It’s totally new to me—in a different country, new culture, so I’m very excited.”
ABS-CBN and Momoland’s talent agency, MLD Entertainment, had signed a multi-project deal which includes a travel show featuring the K-Pop group going around the country which gave birth to this upcoming series, Soulmate, that is expected to air in 2020.
