“Hipon Girl”, or Herlene Budol in real life, feels overwhelmed by what she has been experiencing as Willie Revillame’s co-host on Wowowin.
In just a few months of her stay on the Kapuso variety game show, Herlene has already gotten two nominations as a new personality on TV. She has been nominated as Favorite Newbie in the 5th RAWR Awards 2019 of LionhearTV. For this award, Herlene will be competing against Fumiyam( Fumiya Sankai and Yamyam Gucong), KiaNo (Kiara Takahashi and Gino Roque), LouDre (Lou Yanong and Andre Brouilette), Kim de Leon, Shayne Sava, KarJon (Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza), and Jin Macapagal.
She was also nominated as Best New Female Personality for the 33rd PMPC Star Awards for Television.
In an exclusive interview published at GMA Network.com, Herlene admitted that the nominations and her popularity was unexpected for her.
“Nakaka-overwhelm… Hindi ko inexpect talaga na mapupunta ako sa ganung part.
“May mga nagse-send lang sa akin, ‘Congrats.’ Hindi ko naman alam kung ano pero thank you. Unang-una kay God, tapos pangalawa kay Kuya Wil, sa mga tao dito [sa Wowowin].

“Binigyan nila ako ng chance na makilala ng lahat, na maipakita kung ano meron ako na maski sarili ko. Hindi ko napapakita sa sarili ko dati na magiging ganito ako.
“Dati kasi nag-e-extra-extra ako. Blurred lang ako. Ngayon may sarili na akong kanta. Parang nakaka-touch. Binigyan ako ng break ni God at saka ni Wil.”
Herlene is a rising online celebrity who was originally a contestant of Wowowin last May and eventually became one of its regular hosts. She became viral for her witty and funny punch lines which made the main program host Willie take her on as a regular co-host due to her talent and appeal to the crowd.
The 19-year-old host recently had her first trip abroad through a contract signing in Singapore along with Willie and the Wowowin production staff. She is also recording her own music now.
