The Barretto sisters feud is far from over and other characters are now being added to the controversy.
In an Instagram story post, Gretchen Barretto chastised actress and former beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez for allegedly meddling in the issue.
On Wednesday, October 23, Gretchen’s niece Julia Barretto posted a selfie on her Instagram account with a caption, “Goodmorning selfies.”

Ruffa commented on the post with the word “”Freshhhhhh” with starstruck emojis.
Ruffa’s comment didn’t escape the notice of the eagle-eyed Gretchen which resulted in her IG story where she accused Ruffa of joining in the fray.
In her IG story, Gretchen posted the screenshot of Julia’s post with superimposed text which read, “sawsaw pa more Ruffy!! take it take it WOW!!”
After Gretchen’s post, Ruffa also took to Instagram to post that seemingly answered Gretchen’s dig at her.

She posted a glam photo with a caption: “The next time they try to put you down, just remember that confidence is silent but insecurities are loud AF. 🌟✨ #HappyLife #HappyGirl #PositiveVibes”
Because of this recent development in the Barretto feud, a past issue between Gretchen and Ruffa has been re-opened.
The two were part of the controversial 1994 Manila Film Festival scandal.
During the awards night in June 1994, the winners for the Best Actor and Best Actress were manipulated to favor Ruffa and Gabby Concepcion.
Gretchen was one of the three presenters for the Best Actress together with Miss Universe Mauritius 1994 Viveka Babajee and Ruffa’s brother Rocky Gutierrez. During the announcement, Gretchen was caught on camera looking obviously surprised when Babajee announced Ruffa’s name instead of Aiko Melendez.
Because of that, Greatchen was asked to stand as the star witness in the investigation conducted by the Manila City council. The awards were later retracted and awarded to the rightful winners Aiko and Edu Manzano.
