- GMA Network remained dominant in Urban Luzon and Mega Manila for September 2019

GMA Network has once again reached the top spot in the ratings board for Urban Luzon and Mega Manila last September according to the latest data from ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
Compared to ABS-CBN’s 30.7 percent, the Kapuso network gained an advantage of 1 percent, recording an average of 31.7 percent total day people audience share in Urban Luzon for the month of September (with September 22 to 30 based on overnight data).
Last August, GMA Network registered an average rating of 31.8% in Urban Luzon versus ABS-CBN’s 31.7% or a margin of 0.1%. Urban Luzon accounts for 72% of all urban viewers in the country.
According to the official data from September 1 to 21, GMA Network also led the Mega Manila ratings, which accounts for 60 percent of all urban viewers in the country. The Kapuso Network earned 31.7 percent average total day people audience share, while ABS-CBN recorded a deficit of -3.6 at 28.1 percent.
Last August, the Kapuso network also managed to win Mega Manila viewers as it captured 32.4% average ratings compared to ABS-CBN’s 29.1%.
Looking at the programming blocks, GMA Network reigned in two time blocks—afternoon and primetime—for September.
GMA Network outscored ABS-CBN in the daytime programming getting 24.9 percent people audience share, while Kapamilya network only got 24.1 percent with a margin of .8 percent.
For primetime, the Kapuso network also won the ratings game with 34.9 percent versus ABS-CBN’s 32.3 percent, a difference of 2.6 percent.
Among its highest rating programs, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho remained as the top program in Urban Luzon for September. It also ruled the list of most-watched shows in National Urban Philippines. It was then followed by Sahaya, 24 Oras, The Gift, Beautiful Justice, Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko, One of the Baes, Love You Two, and Amazing Earth.
Also running in the list were The Clash Season 2, StarStruck, The Better Woman, Pepito Manaloto, Daddy’s Gurl, Magpakailanman, 24 Oras Weekend, and Wowowin.
September is the sixth straight month that GMA Network used Urban Luzon and Mega Manila number to claim ratings leadership which started from April this year. Prior to this, GMA used to released NUTAM ratings numbers.
