GMA Network lead nominations at Asian TV Awards 2019 with 7, ABS-CBN bags 2

  • GMA Network topped PH nominations at the Asian TV Awards 2019.
  • ABS-CBN got two nominations at the 2019 Asian TV Awards.

GMA Network leads the country’s nominations at the 2019 Asian TV awards.

The Kapuso network was able to bag seven nominations led by its 2D animated program ‘Brgy. 143‘ which was nominated for Best 2D Animated Programme.

It’s lead actress, Kapuso host-singer Julie Anne San Jose, meanwhile bagged a Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for Barangay 143. Director Jyotirmoy Saha was also nominated for Best direction (FICTION)

Brgy. 143‘s theme songs “Alanganin” by Kris Lawrence and Krizza Neri, “Para Sa Isa’t Isa” by
Nina and JinHo Bae, “Dito Sarangay” by Gloc 9 featuring Maya, and “Liga ng Buhay” by Top Suzara and Harlem Ty were all nominated for Best Theme Song.

ABS-CBN meanwhile captured two nominations, Best News Presenter or Anchor for ANC’s Cathy Yap-Yang and Best Talk show for ANC’s ANC EXCLUSIVE:An Interview with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahatir Bin Mohamed.

Asian Television Awards is the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognizing excellence in programming, production, and performance. The Awards comprise over 40 categories and represent the industry’s foremost recognition to independent production houses in Asia.
