Nineteen-year-old Kapamilya actress Alexa Ilacad shared with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) her first reaction when director Joven Tan offered her a lead role for a movie, in which she said, “Walang manonood niyan!”
Despite her self-doubt, Alexa did not let go of this opportunity to work with Director Tan, who is the same director of the films Petmalu, Wander Bra, Otlum, and Pansamantagal.
In addition to that, Alexa realized that she would be stupid if she declined her first lead role project. She stated, “Pero naisip ko rin na ‘wag mo nang isipin ‘yan. You can’t do anything about things beyond your control. So, saying yung opportunity. Kung hindi ko tatangapin, I’ll be stupid and saying yung chance na makatrabaho ko sina Direk.”
The film, Santigwar, is set to hit the cinemas on October 30, 2019 as a Halloween presentation.
Alexa Ilacad through the years
Alexa was discovered in a commercial of Vaseline shampoo in 2003. She decided to join ABS-CBN’s Goin’ Bulilit in 2008. Alexa became a part of the series Gagambino as the young Leah way back in 2008.
Through her acting skills, she was able to be part of seven films under Star Cinema, Black Sheep Productions and Skylight Films such as Finally Found Someone, Amorosa: The Revenge, Extra Service, and Open.
Alexa is also working with Joshua Garcia, Janella Salvador, and Maja Salvador in the TV series The Killer Bride.
