Actor and former MYX VJ Alex Diaz has finally decided to come out of the closet after he was exposed for propositioning a fitness coach.
Less than a week after the controversy spread on the internet, Alex then cleared up speculations and confirmed his bisexualuality through a lengthy admission on his social media accounts.
Part of his statement went, “Never again will I be shackled by the fear of what might be said about who I am for fear of losing my career and instead, I will seek help, heal, and champion change, acceptance, and representation for the bisexual community and/or anyone who is met with prejudice in our society.”

Though many are still in disbelief after his announcement, Alex has received a warm welcome and support from LGBTQIA+ community. Some also congratulated the Filipino-Scottish actor for coming out bravely despite the circumstances.

Earlier in his post, Alex also expressed his thanks to those who messaged him online to extend their support as he was outed.
Alex wrote, “Thank you for the thousands of messages of love and support all over twitter and my message requests here on instagram. I am going to release a full statement when the time is right but for now I would just like to say sorry and thank you.”
Fitness coach Miguel Chanco posted several screenshots of his conversation with the actor online. This received mixed reactions from netizens. Some netizens defended Alex and believed that showing a part of conversations without the consent of the other party is illegal.
Last August 31, Alex also shocked netizens and his followers by uploading a photo of himself with British-Filipina model Maria Daniella Hake with a caption: “In LU I found more than just love, I found new life. Can’t wait – me and our food baby,” while holding Ella’s ‘food’ bump.
Alex or James Alexander Diaz McDermott in real life is an actor, recording artist, and producer.
He became part of several films and ABS-CBN dramas like Got To Believe (2013), Bagito (2015) , She’s Dating The Gangster (2014), Dagsin (2016), Just The Way Your Are (2015), and Wansapanataym (2016) among others.
