- The Gift goes head-to-head with Starla.
- Alden Richards wished good things for rival show.
Kapuso actor and The Gift lead star Alden Richards had only good intentions for their new rival show Starla.
In an interview with Pep.ph, Alden was asked about his reaction to his show’s newest rival, Kapamilya drama fantaserye Starla.
Starla is ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye starring soap opera queen Judy Ann Santos. The series is centered on people’s beliefs in miracles through wishing stars.
According to Alden, they are looking forward to their new competition and the story that it has to offer to the viewers.
“Of course, we’re looking forward po. Panibago na namang istorya ang ikukuwento ng kabilang istasyon po.”
Although he feels challenged, the Kapuso actor remained optimistic for their show and that he wished the Kapamilya teleserye well.
“We’re very much happy with our project and we wish, yung katapat namin, well din,” said Alden.
“We’re very much open to that and kung ano man ang itinatakbo ng istorya namin ngayon sa The Gift, susundan lang po namin yun para, at least, malinaw po ang nagiging mensahe ng show,” he added.
Alden’s The Gift comes on the heels of his huge success with his Star Cinema film Hello, Love, Goodbye which currently holds the record as the highest grossing Pinoy film of all time. After its pilot, the Kapuso drama had a steady climb in the ratings board closing the gap with its previous rival The General’s Daughter.
With Starla as its newest rival, can it sustain its upward trend or will Starla dominate their timeslot?
