Agot has been the subject of attacks from Duterte supporters after defending the memory of the late cultural activist and Intramuros tour guide.
Celdran, another known Duterte critic, passed away last October 8 due to natural causes according to his family. Prior to his death, Celdran had been one of the most vocal critics of the government. He was also best known as the person who disrupted a mass in Manila Cathedral with the ‘Damaso act’.
Prior to his death on Tuesday, Celdran was able to tweet strong words against Duterte.
Good. Now die. Please. Kthanxbye https://t.co/uwFF0JeaEr

These tweets prompted Agot to ask for respect for the dead and his grieving family.
RESPETO naman sa pamilya at mga mahal nang namatayan.
You may not like what he did or how he did it, pero huwag naman tayong bastos. 🙄

Aside from Agot, there were others who tweeted respect for Carlos Celdran.
To those who can’t even show an ounce of respect, and a measure of humanity, even amid the grieving time… shame on you!

You know the call-out culture in this platform has gone waaay overboard when you continue to vilify a man who has already died. Yes, he was wrong to say those words. But he’s already dead. What more do you want? We can all be better than this. Smdh. Rest in peace, Carlos Celdran.

Only love and respect for Carlos Celdran. He was a freedom fighter .He was an influencer even before the term became popular. An example of courage and integrity who stood up to institutional oppression. A true patriot and a great loss to us all.@carlosceldran pic.twitter.com/adf6VEQHWb
