- TV Patrol named Program of the Year
- ABS-CBN reaps 14 Awards at 2019 COMGUILD Media Awards

ABS-CBN got love from the students and the academe again after winning 14 citations in the 2019 ComGuild Media Awards last Sunday (September 29).
ABS-CBN’s flagship news program “TV Patrol” was honored with the Program of the Year award to lead the winners from the ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs, which also include “Dos Por Dos” (Best AM Radio Program), “Matanglawin” (Best Educational Program), and “Umagang Kay Ganda” (Best Morning Show).
The network’s multi-awarded broadcast journalists were also recognized by ComGuild led by radio and TV anchor Julius Babao, who was named Most Popular Television Personality of the Year.
Also cited for their great media work were Anthony Taberna of “Dos Por Dos” (Best AM Radio Anchor), Dyan Castillejo of “Sports U” (Best Lifestyle Program Host), Karen Davila of “My Puhunan” (Best Magazine Show Host), and Kim Atienza of “Matanglawin” (Best Educational Program Host).
Jeff Canoy was also honored as Best Male Field Reporter of the Year with “TV Patrol Weekend” anchor Alvin Elchico and “TV Patrol” anchor Bernadette Sembrano named as Most Outstanding Male News Presenter of the Year and Most Outstanding Female News Presenter of the Year, respectively.
Rounding up the Kapamilya awardees this year are “The Bottomline,” which won Best Entertainment News Show, and its anchor Boy Abunda, who was hailed as Best Entertainment News Show Host.
The ComGuild Media Awards, which was held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater inside the Ateneo De Manila University campus, is an annual event that recognizes TV and radio news personalities and programs for their body of work voted upon by students of 70 member schools.
