Ysabel Ortega was a young talent at ABS-CBN when she started in 2015. Despite being a newbie, she was given numerous major roles, a very rare opportunity in showbiz nowadays.
Ysabel was first introduced as the third wheel to the love team of James Reid and Nadine Lustre in ‘On The Wings of Love‘ (2015). Her stint was followed by another kontrabida role in ‘Born For You‘ (2016), starring Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona. Then she was added to the cast of ‘Pusong Ligaw‘ in 2017 and appeared in some episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya and ‘Ipaglaban Mo. In 2018, she was paired with Paulo Angeles in the afternoon series ‘Precious Hearts Romances: Araw Gabi.’
Earlier this year, Ysabel moved to GMA Network’s talent arm GMA Artist Center. When asked during the media conference of ‘The Gift’ last Monday (September 9) about her decision to switch networks, she said, “I guess po, yung sa akin is I’m very young, I’m 20, and yung career ko rin po is very young. So, to me, I want to explore and I also want to work with other great actors lalo na po ang liit lang ng industriya. So, I want to widen my horizons and experience how it feels like to be with GMA.”
She also said that she’s still grateful for the projects she had with ABS-CBN while praising the heartwarming welcome of GMA Network, “Officially, I started noong March. So I’m very fresh pa lang. Few months pa lang ako sa Artist Center and I’m very grateful kasi they’re very welcoming. I’m very grateful to what ABS has given me as an actress. That’s where I grew, that’s where I started and forever grateful po ako and I’m very happy.”
Ysabel plays Alden Richards’ long-lost sister in The Gift which is set to premiered on September 16 on GMA Telebabad.
