- Shaina Mae and Rafaello of Mindanao qualify for ‘huling tapatan’
The 12-grand-finalist lineup of “Tawag ng Tangalan’s” third year on “It’s Showtime” is about to be completed as the competition allots another week to search for the last two slot-holders who will compete for the championship in the grand showdown on September 21.
Shaina Mae Allaga of Zamboanga del Sur and Rafaello Cañedo of Davao del Sur grabbed the ninth and tenth slots in the grand finals yesterday (September 6) after ruling the week-long Instant Resbak round for earning the highest combined audience votes and judges’ scores.
The competition will once again get netizens talking about the ongoing Ultimate Resbak Week, which trended on Twitter worldwide last year and was reintroduced on Saturday (September 7) to launch the last leg of the competition before the grand finals.
Sixteen singers will compete in the Ultimate Resbak week, from which the last two grand finalists will be selected, started with Mariane Osabel and Kim Nemenzo occupying the notorious “seat of power.”
Scorching performance await the madlang people because just like last year, the week-long Ultimate Resbak leg will force the aspiring singers to strategize and challenge each other in the face in order to fill the “seat of power.”
Who among the resbakers will face off with grand finalists Elaine Duran, Ranillo Enriquez, John Mark Saga, John Michael Dela Cerna, Charizze Arnigo, Jonas Oñate, Violeta Bayawa, Julius Cawaling, and Shaina Mae and Rafaello?
The week-long ‘huling tapatan,’ which will kick off on September 16 and conclude on September 21, will crown the newest “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion who will win a brand new house and lot, a livelihood package, a family vacation package, a management contract with ABS-CBN, a recording contract under TNT Records, and P2 million.
