- Kim Domingo and Super Tekla shared that they had an intimate scene in the film
- Super Tekla confirmed that he is a straight guy
Super Tekla or Romeo Librada in real life is set to make his first big screen starring role through the comedy movie Kiko En Lala. The movie produced by Background Productions is scheduled for release this September 25 after it was delayed for four months.
Kapuso stars Derrick Monasterio, Kim Domingo, Kiray, Tetay, Jo Berry, and Ai-Ai Delas Alas are also part of the cast of the movie.
Super Tekla plays conjoined twins Kiko and Lala who badly wish to be separated to pursue their love interests. Their wish will be granted but there’s a catch: only one of them will live.
Although visually presented as a gay comedian, Tekla identified himself as a straight man. He has a daughter from his ex-wife named Irene Gonzales.
During the Kiko En Lala mediacon, Tekla said that he enjoyed portraying both of his characters.
“Both characters. Pareho naman. Walang sukatan ng enjoyment sa kanilang dalawa. Pareho po, balanse,” he said.
Kim Domingo also revealed that she felt no awkwardness during her intimate scene with Tekla in the film despite knowing his true sexuality.
When asked about it, the comedian just laughed about the matter though he admitted that he felt an attraction to the actress.
“Yung nasa loob, behave huh, behave. Daddy’s working,” Tekla joked drawing laughter from the crowd.
Between the two characters, Tekla revealed that he was challenged in portraying Kiko but he was thankful that Director Adolf Alix Jr. guided him all throughout.
It was August of last year when the comedian ended the confusion about his sexual identity.
“Hindi, kasi lalaki talaga ako eh. Oo, totoo. 100% guy ako,” Tekla said back then in a press conference of the series Inday Will Always Love You of GMA Network.
“Nabuhay kasi ako sa comedy bar kaya na-adapt ko ‘yong mannerism ng how to be gay. Ako, hindi, never.”
He also confirmed to himself that he has no interest in falling in love with guys.
Tekla claimed that he had no boyfriends in the past though he didn’t deny the fact that he once developed a mutual understanding with the same gender.
And then hindi nag-work,” he said to GMA News Online.
