  • Two Award of Merits for their campaigns, Build Better Now and PRURide PH 2018

PASAY CITY – British life insurer Pru Life UK garnered three accolades at the 17th Philippine Quill Awards, a testimony to its continued strength in business communication.

The awards ceremony was held on August 30, 2019 at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.

Pru Life UK was conferred an Award of Excellence (Communications Management – Marketing, Advertising and Brand Communications) for its innovative INSURAVEST campaign.

The term “insuravest”, a portmanteau of “insurance” and “investment”, was coined by Pru Life UK in 2017 to further align its brand identity with its commitment to help Filipinos achieve their financial goals through a comprehensive range of financial solutions.

The INSURAVEST brand campaign was anchored on a light-hearted TV commercial which used simple and clear messaging to communicate the benefits of investment-linked life insurance products.

Affairs Gizelle Camua, Internal Communications Officer Aly Virrey, and Multimedia Artist Ardie Aquino receiving the Award of Merit for ‘Build Better Now’.

The campaign adopted an aggressive yet efficient approach in terms of media placements and was supported by a digital campaign to ensure wider reach.

The campaign resulted in significant increase in Pru Life UK’s brand awareness and brand attributes, including trustworthiness and approachability.

More importantly, the campaign resonated well with the Pru Life UK agency force, which saw value in promoting insuravest solutions in their engagement with potential customers looking to protect their health and grow their wealth.

The Company also received an Award of Merit (Communications Management – Corporate Social Responsibility) for “Build Better Now”, a rebuild and recovery programme by Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential in Asia, for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.

AVP for Corporate Affairs Gizelle Camua, and Multimedia Artist Ian Tiempo receiving the Award of Merit for ‘PRURide PH 2018’.

From 2013 to 2017, the programme brought together 450 PRUVolunteers from 14 markets across Asia and the United Kingdom to help build 126 disaster-resilient homes in a remote community on Bantayan Island, Cebu.

The programme also contributed 183 motorized boats with fishing nets and 140 cycle rickshaws or pedicabs for the Yolanda survivors. Today, Pru Life UK continues to support Bantayanons through various outreach activities.

In addition, Pru Life UK scooped an Award of Merit (Communications Skills – Special and Experiential Events) for PRURide PH 2018.

The largest cycling festival in the country, PRURide PH 2018 engaged more than 2,000 riders from all over the Philippines and Asia to help increase awareness of cycling as an alternative mode of transport and contribute to building an environmentally-friendly community for generations to come.

Pru Life UK has won several Quill Awards over the past few years from the global, regional, and local chapters of the International Association of Business Communicators, the award-giving body of the Philippine Quill Awards.

Among its award-winning entries are the 20th Anniversary Customer Engagement Campaign and the First Cha-Ching Educators’ Congress on Financial Literacy.

The Philippine Quill Awards is considered the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication.

Organized annually by the IABC Philippines, it has given its seal of approval to the most reputable organizations and corporations in the nation for over a decade, emphasizing the excellent use of communication to achieve business goals and make a difference in society.
