It’s been six years since Queen of Teleseryes Judy Ann Santos did a series for ABS-CBN Primetime Bida. Her last teleserye project was Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala in 2013.
Her supposed return via Someone To Watch Over Me in 2015 was put on hold and eventually shelved because of her pregnancy during that time.
Last year, Judy Ann Santos revealed during her Facebook Live Q&A Session for Judy Ann’s Kitchen Facebook page that she’s returning to doing teleseryes again.
As early as May 2018, Starla began production and it is believed to have been waiting for the right timeslot for the show. Finally, ABS-CBN released its full trailer a while ago during FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
The Queen of Pinoy Soap Operas will be joined by veteran actors Simon Ibarra, Gabe Mercado, Bodjie Pascua, and Joel Torre in her new series. Joel Saracho, Janus del Prado, Joem Bascon, Kathleen Hermosa, Anna Luna, Meryll Soriano, and Raymart Santiago are also part of the cast.
Starla is expected to replace The General’s Daughter in its timeslot.
