Kapuso actress Jo Berry confirmed her admiration for her The Gift co-star Alden Richards.
In an interview after the press conference of GMA Network’s latest teledrama The Gift, Jo was asked about her take on working with Alden. Aside from that, she was also teased by the press regarding her “crush” on Alden.
The actress then gamely answered the question saying her admiration emanated from being a fan. Jo said she has been an Alden fan for some time and that she’s very happy especially now that they get to work together.
“Sinasabi ko naman lagi po kahit dati pa na gusto ko siya maka-work, kasi idol ko siya. Puma-fangirl ako ever since hindi pa ako artista pag umiiyak sya sa TV nakikiiyak din ako hindi ko alam kung bakit,” Jo said.
During the presscon, co-star Elizabeth Oropesa teased Jean Garcia and Berry as having “ulterior motives” with Alden whenever they are shooting their scenes in the series.
Asked about her co-star teasing her about Alden, Jo said that the “kilig” she feels is not the romantic kilig but more of a kilig from a fan.
“Yung kilig ko po kasi masasabi ko na kilig na hindi siya romantically crush, kasi idol mo yung tao tapos ngayon ka-work mo na siya like magkaeksena na kayo. so kilig pa rin yung tawag dun pero hindi sya kilig na crush or romantically,” she explained.
Jo takes the role of Alden’s mother in GMA network’s The Gift. This will be her second Kapuso teleserye following the successful Onanay.
She started her showbiz career via GMA drama anthology Magpakailanman in 2016. After that, she was given her first tile role in Onanay where she worked with screen legends Nora Aunor and Cherie Gil.
