James Reid recently opened up about leaving Viva Artists Agency during his launch as brand ambassador for American watch brand Armitron.
Did his decision to leave affect his relationship with Nadine Lustre?
“It hasn’t been affected at all right now. We’re still working together. We’re all on good terms which is great. I just have a bit more freedom now, that’s all,” he said.
But James clarified that while his girlfriend Nadine is staying under VIVA management, he reassured fans that there will be no impact on his working relationship with her.
When asked if he has plans to be under with any other talent management agency, he replied, “No. I don’t think so. I like having the freedom right now.”
Having lately completed his stint as a judge for Idol Philippines, James confirmed that he has no new project under Dreamscape Entertainment.
Despite the freedom that he has right now, James admitted that he feels scared about what’s to come since he is now on his own.
“It’s great, but it’s also scary knowing that it’s just me,” he said.
James revealed that he’s focusing on his music career right now.
“But I’m focusing a lot on my record label right now. I want to give it a chance. I want to see how far I can take my music. And I have big plans for it,” he said.
While being focused on his music career, the actor still plans to make movies.
“I still plan to do big movies. I’m not giving up show business or anything. I still plan to do movies. I’m just waiting for the right project,” he stated.
But is James Reid transferring to another network? He replied, “No.”
After his Pinoy Big Brother stint where he emerged as the Big Winner, James rose to fame with the film Diary ng Panget with Nadine Lustre, Yassi Pressman, and Andre Paras in 2014. The film became a box office hit earning at least 119.5 million pesos during its four-week run.
He and Nadine starred with Yassi Pressman and Joseph Marco in another film, Talk Back and You’re Dead, a film also based on Alesana Marie’s bestselling novel.
James and Nadine held their first major concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on February w0, 2016, entitled JaDine In Love. It was at the same concert that the two admitted that they were in a relationship.
James played a leading role with Sarah Geromino as his grandma in a remake of Korean movie Miss Granny without his onscreen partner Nadine.
